Delivery & Moves
Yes, Midstate does deliver! We offer delivery on all containers purchased or leased through our company.
1. Shipping Costs
At Cargo Container Supply, we value transparency. We charge a strict $450 Flat Rate Shipping Fee for the delivery of our shipping containers.
- This flat rate applies per container ordered.
- There are no hidden fuel surcharges or surprise handling fees added at checkout.
- The $450 fee covers standard delivery via tilt-bed or flatbed truck to your verified location.
2. Order Processing & Delivery Timeframes
We know you need your container quickly. Our total expected delivery time from the moment you place your order to the moment the container arrives on your property is 5 to 7 days.
| Delivery Stage | Timeframe | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Order Cut-Off Time | 2:00 PM (CST) | Orders placed after 2:00 PM Central Standard Time (Monday-Friday) will be processed the following business day. |
| Handling Time | 1 to 2 Days | Time needed to verify payment, allocate inventory from the depot, and schedule the freight carrier. |
| Transit Time | 4 to 5 Days | Time the container spends in transit on the delivery truck to your location. |
| Total Delivery Time | 5 to 7 Days | The total timeframe you should expect to receive your container after payment. |
How do you deliver containers?
All containers are delivered with a truck and a goose-neck tilt-bed trailer. The driver will back into the area, tilt the trailer, and slide it into place as he pulls forward. This is why we ask for a certain amount of straight-line clearance on behalf of the customer’s desired drop space when delivering. (Eighty feet of clearance for 10′ or 20′ container; 120 feet for a 40′.)
Will you move my container?
We can! We just ask that the container is emptied prior to move. Generally, all moves are billed hourly, starting at $175 an hour with a 2-hour minimum, “port to port.” Meaning the clock starts when our driver leaves the yard and does not stop until he returns to one of our yards.

3. Delivery Locations
We provide delivery across the contiguous United States. Due to the logistics of heavy freight, please note the following location restrictions:
- We cannot deliver shipping containers to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.
- Delivery must be made to a physical, accessible street address.
- Deliveries to remote, extremely rural, or restricted-access areas must be cleared with our logistics team prior to delivery. If a truck cannot physically access your site, we will contact you to find an alternative drop-off location.
4. Delivery Method & Site Preparation
Shipping containers are delivered using heavy-duty commercial trucks (usually a tilt-bed or flatbed roll-off trailer). It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the delivery site is prepared.
- Clearance: You must have adequate height, width, and turning clearance for a commercial semi-truck.
- Ground Surface: The delivery surface must be firm, level, and dry (e.g., concrete, asphalt, gravel, or packed dirt). Delivery drivers reserve the right to refuse delivery if the ground is soft, muddy, or unsafe.
- Presence Required: An adult (18 years or older) must be present at the time of delivery to sign the Bill of Lading and direct the driver where to place the container.
5. Damages, Inspections, and Risk of Loss
Under Illinois law (UCC § 2-509) and our standard policy, the risk of loss passes to you once the container is successfully delivered to your location.
You must inspect the container immediately upon arrival. While containers are industrial products and used containers will have standard wear, tear, and rust, you must check for severe structural damage caused during transit.
- If severe transit damage is present, note it clearly on the driver’s delivery receipt (Bill of Lading) before signing.
- Take clear photographs of the damage while the truck is still on site.
- Contact us immediately at sales@primecodedcontainer.shop to report the issue.
6. Delays & Force Majeure
While we maintain a strict 5-7 day delivery schedule, certain events outside our control (severe weather, natural disasters, highway closures, or labor strikes) may cause unavoidable delays. In the event of a delay, our logistics team will proactively contact you to provide a revised delivery estimate, in compliance with the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
Prior to delivery, we ask for a few things from you to make sure things run smoothly:
- Adequate notice
We’re experiencing both a shortage in containers and number of drivers, so if you would like a container delivered by a certain date, we ask that you provide adequate notice. At the moment, our current delivery estimate for purchases is 2 to 4 weeks, and, for rentals, it is about 1 to 3 weeks. - Adequate clearance
For a 20′ container, we suggest about 80 feet of straight-line clearance so that driver has enough space to pull out from underneath the container. But, for a 40′ unit, we suggest at least 120 feet of straight-line clearance. For overhead, about 14 should be OK. The highest point the container will reach is about 16 feet, but that’s when the trailer bed is tilted.
- Flexiblity
Shipping container deliveries using tilt-bed trailers are not exact and may not allow for perfect placement. While our experienced drivers will do their best to safely position your container as close as possible to your desired location, please note that tilt-bed deliveries have limitations. For precise placement—especially in tight or specific spots—a forklift or crane may be necessary. Exact placement is never gauranteed, we apprecaite your flexiblity in this area. - Patience
We’ll get you your delivery, but we ask for patience. On top of worldwide supply-chain issues, we’re also experiencing a shortage of drivers. We’ll do our best to get you your container when you expect it.
